Are you interested in how to drive change and implement a strategic direction?

We are looking for a strategy developer that will join the Strategy & Operational Development team in Building Nordics, one of the large contracting business areas in NCC.

In the role as Building Nordic’s strategy developer, you will report to the business area Head of Strategy & Operational development. You will belong to a small business area team and the extended team includes the strategy & operational development teams in the three divisions Building Denmark, Building Finland, and Building Norway.

The role and key responsibilities

 

As a strategy developer, you play a key role in supporting the business area and division management teams with analysis of different topics and facilitating the development of insights and input to decisions and the continued development of Building Nordics. Example of topics are market and customer analysis, best practices in current ways of working, how to leverage different contract models, defining and describing the approach to improve business acumen, etc. You will also be part of the preparations and follow-up of the yearly business planning process.

In addition to working with the strategy & operational team in Building Nordics, the role will include a lot of interaction and work with local management and different teams and functions in the three divisions. You will also be part of the wider strategy network in NCC with those having similar roles in other business areas and at NCC group level.

About Building Nordics

Business Area Building Nordics builds and refurbishes sustainable housing, offices, health care buildings, schools, sports facilities and public buildings for public and private customers in Norway, Denmark and Finland.  

Your experience and background 

Requirements: 

  • Work experience matching the role expectations. We believe the successful candidate has experience from strategy development and implementation, either in similar positions in other organization and/or as a management consultant.
  • Understanding of drivers and business logics in a project driven business, experience from the construction industry is a plus.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Academic level equaling an MSc.
  • Fluent in English and at least one of the Nordic languages.

  • Curious and interested in what it is that makes a business work and perform well.
  • Enjoy being part of making changes happen, bringing people along.
  • Open minded and unafraid to participate in discussion and have opinions.
  • Able to formulate hypotheses and define approach on how to tackle a specific topic.  
  • Skilled in project management and driving the development of material supporting different analysis and decision making.
  • Good facilitator, able to apply strategic thinking and tools in a hands-on environment and gather input and insights at all levels in the organization.
  • Ability to consolidate data, input from different stakeholders, etc. to drive problem solving and joint conclusions on different topics.
  • Creative with an ability to think outside the box.
  • Excellent communication skills, both in facilitating discussion and in synthesizing and documenting analysis and conclusions.
  • The position is located in Solna, or Copenhagen, but travels to other offices in the Nordic countries is required as part of the job.
