The role and key responsibilities

NCC Green Industry Transformation is looking for a Head of Purchasing to lead and develop  a best in class purchasing function, taking an active part in the management team as well as in the Group purchasing function contributing to the overall development and collaboration across the Group. In your role you will be responsible for implementing strategies, processes and systems in order to make the right strategic decisions and act on opportunities in the market. NCC has a decentralized organization and as Head of Purchasing you will drive the strategic development of supply chain and supplier collaboration to ensure that NCC is a preferred contractor among suppliers. This includes strengthening relationships with international suppliers as well as collaboration with suppliers in driving innovation, design, etc. You will build strong relationships with key stakeholders within NCC to position purchasing as an integral part in the early stages of projects, in development and in the bid process. You will have the full P&L responsibility within your area of expertise and you will report to the Head of NCC Green Industry Transformation, Helena Hed, and via dotted line to the Chief Purchasing Officer, Johan Lindqvist. 

Your experience and background 

A unique opportunity for a purchasing executive to join a high-performing team in developing a leading business in an exciting industry. We are looking for a self-driven individual with a strong purchasing toolbox and track record who has the ability to balance leading the development of a purchasing team with being a strategic speaking partner to the rest of the management team. You have an academic degree and are experienced in purchasing, operating at or near the CPO level in a large company working with multiple stakeholders. You build strong relationships with both internal Business Areas/Divisions, functions and suppliers and you make sure to utilize the full capacity of the large matrix organization. Furthermore, you thrive in a setting where you have an impact on a strategic level while at the same time also act on both tactical and operational tasks.  

You are a mature leader who is dedicated, driven, and solution oriented with a natural interest for the business and how purchasing can contribute to business success. With a proactive mindset and structured approach you contribute to developing the purchasing function, taking into account both digitalization, automation and daily effectiveness. You enjoy working together with others but you are also comfortable in making brave decisions on your own when needed. The role requires fluency in English and Swedish.

Head of Purchasing Green Industry Transformation

NCC has established a new business area, NCC Green Industry Transformation. The business area will bring together resources, expertise and projects from across NCC to run major projects related to the green industrial transition. The business area will be built up gradually over the course of the year, but around 30 employees are already working as part of a team to ensure that NCC has the right expertise and resources in place when it is time to start the first projects.
